All rentals subject to our rental policy
Hot shop bench rental includes the use of one glory hole, furnace, pipe warmer, , blocks, paddles, and annealer space for one overnight cycle. More than one day of annealing requires an additional fee (refer to rates below). Up to 9 lbs of glass/hour is included, a fee for additional glass will be assessed at $2.00 / lb. of glass removed from the furnace, this includes the work, crack-off and drip off.

Pre-paid Rates apply when 3 or more time slots are scheduled and paid for in advance

Cold Shop
Diamond Grinder, Belt Sander, or Sandblaster: $20/ hour - fee will be prorated to 15 minute increments.

Lockers

Locker Rental: $0.50/day Payable in 6 month increments (Rounded to $90). - Locker fees are due at the beginning of your rental and then by the 1st day of January and the 1st day of June. If locker fees are not paid within 15 days of due date a CHG lock will be placed on the locker until paid. If locker fees are not paid within 30 days of due date, the locker will be cleared & rented to another artist. The contents will be placed in the storage room. CHG is not responsible for items left after 30 days of unpaid locker fees.

Annealers & Kilns

The following rates apply to rentals of an annealer reserved for sole use for a regular annealing cycle.

These rates also apply for each 12-hour increment beyond the regular cycle, if your work will require additional time.

Kiln rental includes up to a 24-hour cycle. More than a 24-hour cycle will be billed in 6-hour increments.

Rental Policy

§ Rental times must be scheduled and paid for in advance. Fees are due within 4 days of making the reservation and no later than immediately before the rental slot. Reservations will not be held if payment is not received within 4 days. We accept cash, checks, Visa, M/C, and Discover.

§ Reservations may be made by phone (773-394-3252), or in person at CHG.

§ Bench rental slots are available on a first come first serve basis.

§ There is no refund for cancellation of reserved rentals. If CHG rents the cancelled bench time, then shop credit toward future rental will be granted.

§ A team of at least two renters must rent each time slot. CHG maintains a list of approved renters looking for a partner, which may be obtained from the office.

§ Bench rental is available to those that have been approved by CHG staff, either through taking CHG classes or arranging an interview to demonstrate adequate level of experience. (Qualifications for bench rental include demonstration of proper and safe use equipment and tools.)

§ All renters are responsible for knowing the studio rules. Copies are posted in the studio and available from the office. Bench rental privileges will be revoked from anyone who does not follow shop etiquette and safety rules, directions given by the CHG staff, or for abuse of equipment.

Other

§ Failure to clean up after your rental time will result in a $25.00 fee.

§ A damage fee will be charged to renters for full replacement cost of tools and equipment if they are used without approval or if they are misused, damaged or lost.
