No glass or artistic experience necessary!
With the guidance of a CHG glass artist you will participate in making your own colorful glass art in our Hot shop. Choose from a paperweight or small glass cup.

Session fee is $55 for 1/2 hour. Minimum age 14 years old.

      This hot Shop class is a beginning to intermediate glass blowing workshop focusing on the glass blown ornament/ holiday ball. learn the art of making your relatives happy with a blown glass ornament!
      prerequisite a level 1 workshop or equivelant.

Glass blowing classes

  • Level 1 8 week Class

    Beginning level glass blowing class in the Hot ShopThis class covers the basics of glassblowing. The student will learn how to gather molten glass out of the furnace onto a blowpipe, how to use the basic tools, and how to work safely in the glass studio. Each student will make a colorful paperweight and small vessel, as well as some practice pieces while learning the tools. All materials are provided. No glass or artistic experience is necessary. See Class Notes below for additional information. Sign up for sequential level 1 ,2, 3 and receive $200 off the total class price !!

  • Level 2 Glass Blowing 8 Week Class

    This is an 8 week class designed for students to incorporate and practive skills developed in previous classes and learn more advanced techniques to produce shapes and color designs. Students are expected to come to class with designs and keep a current sketchbook of design, artwork, and questions which will be gone over in class.

    Class fee $645

  • Level 3 Glassblowing 8 Week Class

    This is an 8 week class designed for students to incorporate and practive skills developed in previous classes and learn more advanced techniques including but not limited to hot sculpture, ventetian techniques, advanced shapes, general skill building.

  • -Intro to Bead making -

    Intro to Bead making is a 1 day, 4 hour workshop designed to teach the student on the basics of bead making on a small torch. This course covers beginning torchworking process and will cover techniques and materials needed to set up your own small bead making facility. The course is 5 hours and no previous glass experience is necessary. This is a great course to start your glass career.

  • Holiday Ball Ornament Workshop

    Have you ever wanted to make your own holiday ball ornaments? This two hour introductory workshop will let you make three of your very own ornaments. You will be suprised at how easy it actually is to make these beautiful decorations on a torch. no experience is necessary

Flameworking Classes

  • -Multilevel Lamworking workshop - 6 weeks

    This workshop is an extension to the intro to Lampworking course. This class will cover some more advanced techniques and be an open studio for practice with instructor supervision. This class is 4 hrs a day running a consecutive 6 weeks.

  • Intro to Lampworking Class , 6 week

    In lampworking, glass is manipulated with heat from a single flame. Students are encouraged to experiment with a variety of lampworking techniques that are applicable to glass jewelry, object making, small scale sculpture and vessel making . This class runs 6 consecutive weeks. No experience necessary.

    Class limit: 7 Students

  • Fused Jewlry Workshop

    This workshop is a weekend class that covers the art of the fused glass jewel-ry. Learn to make well designed beautiful glass ensembles that can be used as jewelry or personalized signature pieces for your mosaic or stained glass projects. Student will create with 10-15 unique glass pendants

Info for Students taking Classes

Class Notes     

    Class size is limited so register early.
    Students must be at least 18 years of age. Students aged 16 & 17 may be accepted with upon consent of instructor and with permission of their parent or guardian.
    Students are to wear natural fiber clothing (cotton is recommended), long pants, and sturdy soled closed toe shoes. Synthetic fibers and sandals are NOT permitted. Please bring sunglasses, water bottle and sketchbook.
    Full payment is required to register for a class or workshop.
    Refunds will be made for cancellations made 21 days prior to start of class less $30 processing fee.
    No refunds within 21 days of start of class.
    Full refund will be given for classes cancelled by CHG.
