If you've ever wanted to become a glassblower then this is the class for you. In level one glassblowing students will learn the fundamentals of working in a glass studio as an artist. A professional glass instructor will teach the basics of working with hot glass through the use of demonstrations, classes, lectures, and studio participation. No previous glass or art experience is needed to enroll in this class.
This class was created to teach students seven basic vessel forms. Students will gain the basic skills needed to blow glass unassisted without an instructor by the end of the 8-week class.
Student requirements:
Students are required to wear all natural fibers (cotton, linen, silk, etc.) and closed toe shoes, bring a drinking container for water, and a sketchbook for notes. Students are also required to wear eye protection (sunglasses or safety glasses) during the classes. If you don’t have sunglasses, a pair of safety glasses will be provided for you.

Tradtional Glassblowing
In level two glass students will capitalize on information learned in previous classes and develop new techniques when working with glass. Level two is a review of 7 basic forms incorporating an additional level of complication. Students will learn how to work with a partner, while using skills covered each week.The class will cover several different techniques including handles, solid feet, and the use of optic molds. Each class lesson is broken down into several easy steps, with a demo and studio time for students to practice. Students are expected to come to class with designs and keep a current sketchbook of drawings, art work, and questions which will be addressed in class.
